Top Ten Halloween Costumes

Halloween may be more of a big thing in the USA than it is in the UK, but it’s an excuse for a party so therefore an excuse to look for the best fancy dress costumes and have some real fun.
Fancy dress costumes can be elaborate and really expensive, such as the Deluxe Darth Vader suit or a life-size Stormtrooper costume. If the Force isn’t with you enough to spend several hundred pounds on a fancy dress costume you could opt for something a little more reasonable, such as one of the many mid-range Star Wars costumes available.
Perhaps Star Wars isn’t your thing at all and you’d rather something more classic and in keeping with the image of Halloween? Some of the best Halloween fancy dress costumes are the simplest and most recognisable ones, such as Dracula, the Mummy or the Wolfman. You’ll be a scream in something like that. In fact, speaking of Scream, why not try the costume from Scream? The black cape, disfigured Salvador Dali styled mask and knife; it’s a modern classic.
For children there’s really only one type of fancy dress costume on the cards for Halloween, and that’s the Harry Potter range. Scare the Muggles away by casting some spells with your wand.
So for inspiration this Halloween, here are ten of the best fancy dress costumes you could try.
1.    Harry Potter
2.    Darth Vader
3.    Scream
4.    Dracula
5.    Mummy
6.    Wolfman
7.    Darth Maul
8.    Hermione Granger
9.    Stormtrooper
10.    Ghost

We’ve already started getting ready for Halloween this year. I got lots of new decorations this year. My husband is just as excited and me and the kids. He sometimes goes over the limit when it comes to halloween. He fills our yard with lots of spooky things. He even bought sound effects this year to make things even more halloweenish. He’s really getting a kick out of planning this halloween. The boys are helping him with all the set ups and wiring he needs done. Every time they leave the house they come back with even more decorations. I can hardly wait to see where he plans on putting it all. He was also talking about setting up a little haunted house thing, but I put a stop to that. We can’t afford to go that crazy on halloween with Christmas just around the corner. So we had to set some boundaries for our Halloween décor. He did find an online store that sold lots of halloween decorations at pretty fair prices. I have to admit he did find a great place to shop for halloween supplies. I liked the props and decorations so much I gave him the go ahead to order them. I really liked the fog juice he ordered. It makes things even spookier. Another item I agreed on was the dropping zombie guy. It’s really pretty neat. We will hang him just above the top step on the porch. He also bough a voice changer and a icky crawling hand to put by the bowl of candy. I figured if they have all this in decorations, maybe they have great babies costumes and bigger kids and baby haloween costumes too. There were plenty of choices for costumes for the whole family. You could find several newborn baby costumes and others for every age group. This would be a great place to get the costumes for our two babies and two older kids. I looked through the baby bunting costumes for my youngest and found quite a few choices of costumes for babies. I liked the hot dog baby bunting costume quite a lot. My husband preferred the football costume for the baby. There were so many terrific choices for baby costumes. There is everything under the sun as far as costumes for babies. There’s also a baby costume that looks like a car air freshener. I couldn’t picture dressing our baby boy in a baby halloween costume that resembles an air freshener. Our little newborn boy got to wear one of the football baby bunting halloween costumes. Since he chose our sons’ costume I got to pick the minnie mouse costume I wanted for our baby daughter. We let the older boys decide for themselves what costumes they wanted this year. It was nothing but the Wolverine costume for our son David. Our oldest chose a character from one of his favorite movies, “Beetlejuice”. The boys wanted to know if we were going to dress up this year too. That didn’t exactly sound too good to me, at first. But after giving it some thought, it sounded like fun. We did promise to browse through all the adult costumes that were available and think about it. They did have a great selection of adult costumes at this online site. The first costume that caught my eye was the zombie prom queen. My husband thought about being a swashbugling pirate at first. But we ended up choosing the popeye and olive oyl costumes, since we are a couple anyway. We were able to get the decorations and costumes for all of us, plus some cool halloween props at discount prices. This halloween will be one of our best.

Banana Costume

There have always been pairs that go together well- Adam and Eve, Batman and Robin, Tom and Jerry.  When it comes to fancy dress costumes, one of the more amusing pairs is the gorilla and banana.

Gorilla costumes are one thing and it’s quite common to see someone dressed as a silverback at a costume party.  But how many people do you see dressed in banana costumes? The answer is probably almost none, and that’s a shame as bananas look great and when teamed with a gorilla, are sure to raise a few laughs.

The typical banana costume is comprised of a banana shaped jumpsuit in which an individual gets into.  There are sometimes trousers and sleeves included, but the purest form of banana suit is just the jumpsuit.  You may think this is poor, but in some cases it really makes the costume look great.

Banana costumes are available in both adult and kids sizes, and can therefore be enjoyed at a range of costume parties, from child birthday parties to office parties and nights out on the town.  If you’re out and about and happen to see a banana being chased by a gorilla don’t be alarmed, it’s all part of the fun!

Fruit costumes in general are growing in popularity, with bananas leading the trend.  It’s not uncommon to find apples, oranges and even grapes in good fancy dress shops, especially those online.  For a spicy kick, try dressing as a chilli pepper, or if you’re more of a cool customer, try a cucumber.  Going out as a group will be a real fruit salad!

No matter what party you’re attending, at the end of the day banana costumes are a fantastic option to consider.  They look great at regular costume parties, and if you’re really brave try going to a formal dinner as one- with a banana costume you’ll definitely be the centre of attention.  Just don’t have too much fun in the sun, you don’t want to turn green!
